Concepts explained, standards pressure-tested, and market claims answered. The posts follow the book's three acts. ACT I: why the current value system fails. ACT II: how value actually behaves. ACT III: how value is governed into existence. Start with the act that matches your question, jump straight to a topic below, or browse everything. Claims here stay under review; what changes is recorded in The Claims Register. New to the vocabulary? The glossary defines the standard’s terms in one place.

Software is starting to calculate its own realized return from the transactions it processes. If that is the only record of the outcome, the renewal decision is made on the supplier’s number.
A federal buying program cleared its coverage target. The savings it exists to produce were reported on a fraction of the same spend, and the evidence connecting the two was not available.
The first federal text on AI agents does not ask the software to behave well. It specifies conditions the arrangement must have, and most enterprises cannot meet one of them internally.
Wendell Berry set nine standards for any new tool in 1987, and only one asked whether it did the work better. The other eight asked what it would cost the work already being done well.

Most buying teams have never met business value engineering, the seller discipline that writes the case for their purchases. An insider explains what to ask for.
A buyer with a right to audit can examine everything the seller spent and still learn nothing about whether the thing it bought worked. Those are two different rights, and most contracts carry only one.
Enterprise buyers assembled an evidence-gated purchasing instrument for AI vendors one RFP at a time. It gates payment on proof rather than promise, it is already operating, and it still has no name.
Colorado repealed its AI Act in May and Europe deferred the high risk regime in July. In both cases the duty to disclose survived and the duty to assess did not.
Suppliers decide which buyers get their best people and scarcest capacity. The research says that decision runs on demonstrated behavior, not on order size, and it is reissued rather than banked.
